Soil: Vernaccia di San Gimignano originates from the hilly lands near the town of San Gimignano in the province of Siena. The soil of San Gimignano is characterized by clay, sand, and tufo.
Vinification: The wine-making process in “white” follows the traditional style with a gentle pressing and low temperature in order to keep its exceptional fragrance. The fermentation, at a controlled temperature, has a medium duration of 12 to 18 days in steel vats.
Tasting notes: Its bouquet is surprisingly rich, with clean herbal accents including heather from a freshly cut field and some wood smoke too. Pleasant complexity. On the palate it’s full and rather languid supported by mineral acidity that flows into a clean mineral finish.
