Piccini Sasso Al Poggio Rosso Toscana IGT is an Italian red wine made from a selection of the best bunches of grapes consisting of 60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet and 20% Merlot, Tuscany wine region IGT, Italy. It is one of the so-called “Super-Tuscan” wines named after its birthplace and the cradle of most red wines – after mountainous Tuscany with clayey and rocky soil. The name of the wine “Sasso al Poggio” also refers to this, which in translation means a stone on a hill.

Soil: Clay is a major component, as well as fragmented rock in the form on stones.
Winemaking: After vinification, the wine matured for a total of 12 months in oak barrels and 4 months in bottle.
Tasting Notes: Black cherries, licorice, forest substrate, minerals and vanilla tones of oak wood. Deep, full and juicy with a fruity base, beautifully integrated tannins and a long, complex, clean and heavy finish.
Food Pairing: Ideal for game and ripe cheeses.
