Though the Bergqvist’s have been in the wine industry since 1815, Quinta de la Rosa has only been in the family for 109 years, when Sophia’s grandmother received it as a gift. In 1988, Sophia and her late father, Tim Bergqvist, decided to launch their estate produced premium Port brand Quinta de la Rosa. In the early 1990s, the Bergqvist family became one of the pioneers in top-quality table wine production in the Douro region. Quinta de la Rosa’s red and white table wines have won many accolades in the press.
