GRAPE VARIETAL: 100% Tempranillo
VITICULTURE: Traditional dry farmed viticulture. Organic Goblet trained vines. Cultivated completely
by hand, with minimal human intervention. Harvested by hand.
ALTITUDE: 2,100-2,250 ft.
SOILS: Sandy iron rich soils intermixed with small stones and chalk. Very poor in organic matter. 5ft.
beneath the surface is a layer of red clay.
CLIMATE: Continental. Large temperature swings between day and night. Precipitation is very rare. A
very arid climate with rain exclusively falling at the end of fall and during the winter. More than 3,000
hours of sun per year.
HARVEST:September. Very low yields of 1-2 kilos per vine or around 2 tons/acre. Grapes are carefully hand-harvested and transported to the winery in small boxes to prevent bruising of the fruit.
WINEMAKING: Traditional fermentation in stainless-steel tanks , 6 months.

TASTING NOTES: A young, powerful and fruity red wine. Intense ripe red fruit on the nose. On the palate, sweet fruit such as blueberries mingle with violets, scorched earth, and graphite in a plump, powerful, medium to full-bodied wine.
