“Tasting this you can see why the Hunter is famous for Semillon. The classic citrus lime character is evident in this crisp clean style but the wine will really develop the renowned toasty characters after about six years in bottle.” -MICHAEL HOPE
Semillon is one of the greatest strengths of the Hunter Valley and our Wollombi Brook vineyard is certainly no exception to that rule. The region is renowned for producing a Semillon with a little more acid than its Bordeaux counterpart. Most commonly consumed young while crisp, the pallet can change drastically over time with nut and toasty notes becoming predominant characters. Having sold this wine exclusively to our domestic market for a number of years we are proud to finally share this wonderful drop with the rest of the world.
