This bottling has ample acidity to complement its weight on the palate, making it a beautiful match for food. It is a good choice to pair with many cows' milk cheeses such as Brie or Camembert. Richer foods such as roast chicken or whole farm raised striped bass are also very pleasant pairings.

The Santa Rita Hills AVA is an ideal environment for growing intensely flavored full-bodied Chardonnay. The 2007 Chardonnay SRH is winemaker Bruce McGuire's selection of three neighboring vineyards, chosen to showcase the ripe, concentrated Chardonnay for which the Santa Rita Hills is known. 2007 was a year when smaller than normal crop yielded excellent fruit quality (small clusters and berries). This wine was aged in French and Hungarian oak (24% new oak) resulting in a wine that is very dry and crisp in acidity, offering rich oak-inspired flavors of pineapples, pears and green apples. This wine is good to pair with many cows' milk cheeses (Brie or Camembert), as well as richer foods such as roast chicken or striped bass. This bottling will reward aging through 2013 and promises to be quite showy through 2016. This Chardonnay received 90 points from Wine Enthusiast and won Gold at the 2010 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.
