Intense nose, with black fruits with notes in background of thyme and scrubland. Good volume in the mouth with nice tannic concentration. Wonderfully long aromatic finish. Pair with rack of lamb, pork filet, filet of beef with rosemary, game and cheeses.

Fleshy and sweet, displaying pliant cassis and cherry flavors that pick up bitterness with air. Dusty tannins add shape and grip to a persistent, vanilla-tinged finish. This drinks well now with decanting."

The palate is healthy and full, with punchy, snappy flavors of cherry, raspberry and spiced marmalade. Creamy, sweet and rooty on the finish. Drink now through 2015."
(Check to print this review) 90 Points  Wine Advocate, February 2012 The 2008 Gran Araucano Cabernet Sauvignon spent 18 months in oak. It emits an alluring nose of violets, Asian spices, incense, tobacco, and assorted black fruits. This leads to an elegantly styled Cabernet with enough underlying structure to evolve for 2-3 years. This nicely proportioned offering will be at its best from 2013 to 2023.
Gran Araucano Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Hacienda Araucano is known for very high quality, top-of-the-line wines produced in small quantities, and the Gran Araucano Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect illustration of the Hacienda’s “boutique” style. The beautiful, intense red robe of this opulent wine is an instant eye-catcher. The intensity of the red fruit and vanilla aromas blend harmoniously, giving the wine lots of complexity and freshness. In the mouth, Gran Araucano is very aromatic and has exceedingly fine, well-integrated tannins. The richness of Gran Araucano Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Francois Lurton’s greatest prides.
