Clos de Lolol  2008 Lolol Valley - CHILE

UPC/EIN Code : 3 480042 40500 6

CLOS DE LOLOL is a blend of our best cuvées of Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Carmenere. Each part of Colchagua valley produces grapes with their own distinct characters, which allow us to produce some very complex wines, through blending, and to truly express the terroir of Lolol. This is a well-rounded wine that can be enjoyed now or in six years time, accompanied by red meats, game and other hearty fare.

(Check to print this review) 89 Points  Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, June 2011 "(38% carmenere, 28% cabernet sauvignon, 20% syrah and 14% cabernet franc) Opaque ruby. An expressive, seductively perfumed bouquet suggests dark berry preserves, violet, cocoa powder and licorice, with notes of smoky herbs and vanilla in the background. Broad and velvety on entry, then firmer in the middle, offering rich blackberry and bitter cherry flavors and notes of vanillin oak and woodsmoke. Finishes sweet and with very good length, repeating the smoky note. This is a baby."
(Check to print this review) 90 Points  Outstanding Value Wine Advocate , February 2012 The 2008 Clos de Lolol is a blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenere, with the balance Cabernet Franc and Syrah aged for 12 months in barrel. Wood smoke, tobacco, herbs, Asian spices, and assorted black fruits lead to a supple, elegantly styled wine that has enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years. This lengthy effort is an outstanding value that will be at its best from 2013 to 2020.
