Pierre Lafond was the first person to produce wines in the Santa Barbara County AVA after prohibition ended. Today, he owns two wineries, the original and only Santa Barbara Winery located in downtown Santa Barbara and Lafond Vineyards located in Santa Rita Hills AVA. The Lafonds produce world class Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah from 100% Santa Rita appellation fruit.
